This digital library include a archeological sites database coupled to a bibliographic database on Prehistory and Protohistory in the Near and Middle East and Central Asia, from a review of journals and books in different languages (French, English, German, Russian ...) covering the geographical, chronological and thematic fields of the Paléorient journal : from the first human occupations to the beginnings of urban civilization (Early Bronze Age) in a vast region from the Levant to western and northern China, and from the Arabian Peninsulain Kazakhstan.

The database of archaeological sites is derived from the geographical index of the Atlas historique du Proche-Orient ancien. It contains the names of the sites ; each site is geolocated on a map. Where possible, dynamic links are created between the archaeological sites and the bibliographic references which cite them.

The total number of items is near 25,000 from the 1970s to the present, and is regularly updated.
